Whenever you hear people talk about smartphones,

there's one name that comes up more than any name, the iPhone. Many consider the iPhone to be the pinnacle of smartphones, but few use the phone to its full potential. If you want to use your iPhone for all it's worth, then keep reading for some useful tips.

On your iPhone, it is possible to look at PDF files in your iBooks. When you are on a website with a PDF, you want to view or a mail message, all you need to do is tap and then hold either the PDF link or icon. Then, simply select "open in iBooks".

Do you want to add a word that iPhone dictionary does not recognize? Navigate to your Keyboard section. It is under General in the Settings area. Select International Keyboard, then pick Add New Keyboard and pick the Japanese Ten Key. Go back to Edit User Dictionary, tap the plus sign and select "Word." Now you are ready to add whatever word you like to your dictionary.

Turn on character count in your text message settings. Not everyone has an iphone. A simple tweak in the settings will turn on your word count. Leaving the SMS character count visible on your phone will help you be more considerate when texting friends or family without iphones of their own.
